Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family provides a snapshot of dinosaur life and shows how this group became the world’s top predators with their massive skulls, powerful jaws and bone-crunching teeth. While the most famous member of this family was the mighty T. rex, tyrannosaurs came in all shapes and sizes including Guanlong, the ‘crown dragon’, and the diminutive Dilong, the ‘emperor dragon’, with a skeleton just one meter long.
The exhibition features extremely rare fossil specimens as well as stunning life-sized skeletons and models. A fan favorite from Australia, New Zealand, the U.S. and Canada, Tyrannosaurs uses cutting-edge technology, features augmented reality, and includes hands-on and multimedia experiences that will engage and excite children and adults alike.
Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family is an exhibition created by the Australian Museum and toured internationally by Flying Fish.

“Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family surpassed our expectations of a dinosaur exhibition and proved to be among Discovery Centre’s most-visited exhibitions ever. It’s a sleek, modern exhibit that offers something different from the classic dinosaur themes – impressive, enormous, powerful fossil artifacts; intuitive, dependable, technology-rich interactive experiences; and a well-developed voice offered an unexpected depth of content and enjoyment for visitors.”
Director, Exhibits & Facilities
“Tyrannosaurus: Meet the Family has been great with visitors. It has surpassed our last dinosaur show in total number and number of repeat visitors. Families and individuals or all ages have enjoyed the mix of academic information and fun interactivity. It’s become the “must see” exhibition of Omaha this summer.”
